AK Party statement on fund investigation: Legislation is being strengthened

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, in his statement regarding the fund investigation, noted that fund fraudsters and legitimate investors are being separated with sensitivity, stating, "We will go after the fund devils to the end."

AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made evaluations regarding the fund investigation and liquidation processes. Çelik stated that fund fraudsters and legitimate investors are being carefully distinguished from one another, emphasizing that assessments that would harm the Turkish economy are incorrect. He stated that the process regarding investment funds whose liquidation was decided by the Capital Markets Board is being conducted fairly and transparently.

Stating that the fund liquidation proposal in Parliament has been accepted in the committee and will likely be discussed within the week, Çelik noted that permanent changes aimed at strengthening regulatory mechanisms are foreseen. While the goal is to collect losses and damages from those responsible during the liquidation process, the remaining amounts are intended to be paid to the fund owners.
