Aki Takase Japanic to Perform at İBB Cemal Reşit Rey
Jazz pianist Aki Takase will meet music lovers for the first time at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall with her group Japanic.
Japanese pianist and composer Aki Takase is making her first appearance before music lovers on the stage of the İBB Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall on the evening of Wednesday, October 21, alongside her Japanic quintet.
Having received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the German Jazz Awards in April 2026, Takase blends jazz rhythms with hip-hop and free improvisation in her Japanic project, which brings together turntable, piano, and saxophone. In her musical career stretching from Tokyo to Berlin, known for her interpretations of Fats Waller and Thelonious Monk, the artist is accompanied at the concert by saxophonist Daniel Erdmann, DJ Vincent von Schlippenbach, double bassist Johannes Fink, and drummer Dag Magnus Narvesen.
