AKP Initiates Work on Pensioner Regulation

In line with the new pensioner regulation signaled by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the Cabinet Meeting, AKP executives have commenced their work. In the year-end planning concerning more than 18 million pensioners, formulas aimed at increasing the welfare share and the lowest pensioner salary beyond the inflation difference are being discussed.

According to information obtained by NTV from AKP sources, the first stage of the regulation aims to reflect the inflation difference to all pensioners and establish a common lower limit with Treasury support for those whose base salaries remain low. In the studies carried out by observing SGK (Social Security Institution) actuarial balances and budget possibilities, the option of making additional payments to those receiving the lowest pensioner salary is kept at the forefront.
