Through the initiatives of the Ministry of Trade, a declaration text confirming the alignment in machinery safety legislation between Türkiye and the European Union (EU) has been signed. This regulation aims to facilitate the access of Turkish machinery exporters to the EU market and reduce certification costs.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Trade, the alignment process regarding machinery safety legislation within the scope of the Customs Union between Türkiye and the EU has been officially completed. The machinery sector accounts for more than 10 percent of Türkiye's total exports to the EU, with an annual export volume of over 10 billion dollars.

The signed declaration text paves the way for the Turkish machinery sector to fully benefit from the principle of free movement of goods within the scope of the Customs Union. With this development, it will become possible to appoint notified bodies in Türkiye, and machinery exporters will be able to carry out conformity assessment and certification procedures in Türkiye under equivalent conditions to manufacturers in the EU.
