Turkey has successfully concluded its alignment process with the European Union (EU) regarding machinery safety legislation. With the signed declaration, the path has been cleared for the machinery sector to fully benefit from the principle of free movement of goods within the scope of the Customs Union.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, the alignment process, conducted in line with Customs Union requirements, aims to reduce technical barriers for the machinery sector in the EU market. The sector, which holds strategic importance with an annual export volume exceeding 10 billion dollars and a share of over 10 percent in total exports, has now achieved equivalent conditions to producers in EU member states with this development.

Thanks to the new regulation, it will be possible to appoint notified bodies in Turkey, and exporters will be able to carry out conformity assessment and certification procedures domestically. This step is expected to deepen the industry's integration with the EU single market by reducing certification costs and administrative burdens.
