Alternative Ceremony by NEW Party İzmir Provincial Presidency on Republic Day

The NEW Party İzmir Provincial Presidency held an alternative wreath-laying ceremony at Republic Square due to October 29 Republic Day. NEW Party İzmir Provincial Chairman Çağatay Güç, Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki, Karabağlar Mayor Helil Kınay, district chairmen, and party members attended the program where a wreath was laid at the Atatürk Monument.

Speaking at the ceremony, NEW Party İzmir Provincial Chairman Çağatay Güç emphasized that the Republic will gain meaning through economic independence, justice, and social welfare, drawing attention to financial difficulties. Criticizing the putting up for sale of the Basmane Pit in his speech, Güç claimed that electricity was not supplied to Republic Square during the ceremony. Additionally, touching upon the events that occurred on the day İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay joined the AK Party, Güç made statements regarding the discussions held between them and the governorship.
