Ex-Nvidia-turned-VC Amulya Vishwanath: 'Physical AI is in its LEGO era' | TechCrunch

Techable Ventures founder and managing partner Amulya Vishwanath evaluated the current state of the physical AI and robotics sector in a podcast appearance. Following a seven-year product marketing background at Nvidia before transitioning to venture capital, Vishwanath stated that the sector is going through a "LEGO era" where fundamental software and components are being rebuilt.

Amulya Vishwanath said that everyone is waiting for a "ChatGPT moment" in the robotics sector, but the current stage resembles a LEGO era where foundational building blocks are being created. Stating that essential parts such as robotic hands or actuators will bring forth major products over time, Vishwanath emphasized that similar processes were experienced during the internet era and the Industrial Revolution.

Drawing attention to the importance of connecting entrepreneurs with qualified talent, Vishwanath noted that building the right ecosystem in the U.S. market is critical for competitiveness. She stated that they provide strong network support to founders against the intense talent attraction of major companies such as Anthropic and Nvidia.
