Anthropic Announces Claude Duet AI Agent for Professionals

Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, a new AI agent positioned as a rival to Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots systems. Developed with a focus on professionals and small business owners, the system is currently in the "research preview" stage.

Built on the Claude Opus 5.5 model, Claude Duet provides users with daily morning briefings and monitors connected applications throughout the day, sending notifications only when attention is required. Accessible via a standalone app for iOS and Android as well as the Claude web interface, the agent can perform tasks such as scheduling meetings, creating dashboards, preparing financial forecasts, and designing web app prototypes.

Operating through a virtual machine equipped with a browser, the system requires user approval before executing critical actions such as payments or deletions. While a specialized classifier and security system are integrated to protect sensitive information like credit card numbers, the service features some early-version limitations regarding personal tasks and reading topics, and is currently offered via a waitlist for Pro or Max subscribers in the United States.
