Apple Increases Production Target for iPhone Duo by 44%

Apple has revised its production plans for its foldable model iPhone Duo, which encountered high interest during the pre-order process. According to information from the supply chain, the company increased the device's first 12-month production target by 44% to 14 million units.

New instructions sent to Foxconn and other critical component manufacturers confirm that Apple has decided to expand capacity in the face of record demand. While a target of 10 million units was previously projected in July, analyst Jeff Pu estimated in September that this number could remain around 6 million due to hinge constraints.

Assessment: Despite high production targets, the device's shelf availability continues to depend on the speed at which challenges in screen and hinge manufacturing are overcome. Shipping dates being moved forward for some users points to improvements in the supply chain.

Analysts predict that Apple's move will grow global foldable device shipments by 25.7% in 2026 and 59.1% in 2027. Offered for sale in the US starting at $1,999, Apple warns of limited stock in stores and applies a purchasing limit of two units per person.
