Following the Soviet oppression and uprising in Hungary in 1956, more than 500 of the hundreds of thousands of citizens who had to leave their country came to Turkey.

These refugees who came to Turkey were placed in the Kızılay Camp in Pendik, Istanbul, and were hosted in the country.

This important work was published in Hayat magazine on March 29, 1957, under the title "Little Hungary".
