An argument between Mehmet Özgü, who was allegedly engaged in unlicensed taxi driving, and his friend Serkan Yılmaz in Ankara's Altındağ district resulted in murder. Following Yılmaz's death at the scene, Özgü shared the murder footage on social media and was detained by police teams.

In the incident that occurred during the night hours in Hacı Bayram Neighborhood of Ankara's Altındağ district, a hostility arose due to alcohol consumption between Mehmet Özgü, stated to be engaged in unlicensed taxi driving, and his friend Serkan Yılmaz, with whom he had lived in the same house until three months ago. An argument broke out again at a coffeehouse between the two, who previously lived in the same house, after Yılmaz stated that he would no longer direct passengers to him.

Upon the escalation of the argument, Mehmet Özgü wanted to shoot Serkan Yılmaz with a handgun he had on him, but the bullet hit his own foot. Özgü then cut Yılmaz's throat with a knife and plunged the knife into his heart, causing Serkan Yılmaz to lose his life at the scene.

Following the murder, Mehmet Özgü recorded the moments when Yılmaz was lying on the ground covered in blood with his mobile phone, shared it on his social media account, and made threats directed at Yılmaz's friend S.Y. in the post. While the suspect, who was detained at the scene by teams from the Ankara Police Department Homicide Bureau, was taken to the police station for processing, Yılmaz's body was transferred to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institution for an autopsy, and an investigation into the incident was initiated.
