Ark Invest's 2031 Forecast for Tesla: $5,000 Per Share
Led by Cathie Wood, Ark Invest has published a new valuation model projecting that Tesla shares could reach $5,000 by 2031 under a bull case scenario.
Under the direction of Cathie Wood, Ark Invest shared a bull case scenario in its updated valuation model for Tesla (TSLA) projecting that the company's share value could climb to $5,000 by 2031. Given that the current market value stands at approximately $375, this forecast points to an appreciation potential of 1,233%.
Ark Invest's projection diverges from traditional Wall Street price targets. Even in the firm's bear case scenario, Tesla shares are projected to reach $3,300. In the bull case, Tesla's market value is expected to surge to $20.4 trillion; to achieve this target, the company would need to increase its annual sales volume from $95 billion in 2025 by roughly 17-fold over five years.
Evaluation: Ark Invest's ambitious growth forecast relies on developments in autonomous driving technologies and robotics rather than electric vehicle sales alone. The model assumes that the Robotaxi service launched in Austin in June 2025 will account for 80% of the company's enterprise value by 2031. In this scenario, 10 million Robotaxis are targeted to generate $900 billion in annual revenue, with 1.2 million Optimus robots providing an additional $254 billion in revenue.
The realization of these targets requires Tesla's cumulative artificial intelligence capital expenditures to reach $225 billion by 2031. Experts note that while this price target represents a massive opportunity, it is based on highly aggressive assumptions regarding adoption rates, future profitability, and management execution processes.
