In the southeastern Iranian provinces of Sistan-Baluchestan and Kerman, armed attacks organized by an opposition coalition called the Jebhe-ye Mohareban-e Mardom (JMM) are straining the region's security environment. According to an October report by the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at least 63 armed incidents took place in the region between March 31 and October 10, 2026, resulting in the deaths of at least 94 people.

Six attacks claimed by the JMM have deepened instability in the region, with actions carried out on October 14 drawing particular attention. On that date, the group targeted and assassinated female members of the Basij paramilitary forces, including a commander, in Sistan-Baluchestan. During the same period, Nosrat Eftekhari, the head of cultural and social affairs for the Provincial Police Department, was killed in Zahedan as a result of a roadside bomb explosion.

Assessment: Experts note that while the JMM lacks the capacity to wage a conventional war, the guerrilla-style operations they carry out undermine the regime's control in the region.
