'Athletes Connect' Initiative at World Athletics U20 Championships in Oregon
Implemented within the scope of the World Athletics U20 Championships held in Oregon, the 'Athletes Connect' program offered educational panels, networking opportunities, and a dedicated workspace to over 700 young athletes from 82 countries.
The World Athletics U20 Championships, held at the University of Oregon, hosted a special initiative called 'Athletes Connect' aimed at supporting the personal and professional development of young athletes.
The 'Athlete Zone' established in the university's Bean Hall building was brought to life through the collaborative effort of World Athletics and the Athletics Integrity Unit. Serving more than 700 athletes from 82 different countries, this area provided young talents with a comprehensive support environment featuring content creation stations, lounge areas, and educational panels.
Critical topics such as athletic careers and brand management were addressed in the panels organized within the program. In the events featuring world champions such as Christian Taylor, Ashton Eaton, Ato Boldon, and Valerie Adams as speakers, young athletes like Manaia Christiansen and Alessandro Borges also participated in networking and learning activities.
