Here's how to limit AI in your life

In response to user discomfort with AI features integrated into digital tools, South Philly Free Library librarian Charlie Bailey has organized a workshop titled 'Avoiding AI'.

The workshop, which has gained widespread attention on social media, teaches users how to manage AI controls on devices, email services, and search engines. While acknowledging that complete avoidance is difficult, Bailey points out that features such as Apple Intelligence, Windows 11 Copilot, Android Gemini, and Samsung Galaxy AI can be disabled.

Recommending encrypted platforms like Proton Mail for email privacy, the librarian draws attention to the risk of misinformation posed by AI-powered search engines. Bailey advises using alternatives like NoAI.DuckDuckGo.com, which do not include tracking or offer AI-generated responses, and continues to provide guidance on digital data management through an informative presentation.
