Within the scope of October 27 World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, Istanbul Modern Cinema is bringing the Back on the Screen program, prepared in cooperation with Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Prof. Sami Şekeroğlu Cinema-TV Center, to film enthusiasts between October 22 and 27.
Istanbul Modern Cinema has launched the Back on the Screen program, which brings films that have left a mark on the memory of Turkish cinema back to the screen. The selection, held between October 22 and 27, aims to make the contribution made to the preservation of Turkish cinema visible through productions restored in the last 15 years. While productions from different periods meet on the same screen during the program, directors and actors of the films also come together with audiences as guests.
Istanbul Modern Film Curator Müge Turan emphasized that carrying a film into the future is possible not only by preserving it, but also by rewatching it and discussing it. The program features Muhsin Ertuğrul's Daughter of the Swampy Roof Aysel, Metin Erksan's Dark World and Revenge of the Snakes, Halit Refiğ's Birds of Exile, Cemal Erez's 65 KV, Tonguç Yaşar's How the Amentü Ship Sailed, Korhan Yurtsever's Black Head, Erden Kıral's A Season in Hakkâri, Ömer Kavur's Motherland Hotel and Relentless Road, Atıf Yılmaz's How is Asiye Saved?, and Bilge Olgaç's İpekçe.
