Beşiktaş star Junior Olaitan on the radar of European clubs
Junior Olaitan, who has drawn attention with his performance at Beşiktaş, has come under the surveillance of scouts from Europe, but the black-and-white management is not keen on letting the player go.
Beşiktaş's Beninese football player Junior Olaitan has entered the transfer radar of clubs from Europe with his recent surge. While the 24-year-old midfielder's upward trajectory has drawn attention following his criticized performance during the summer period, his club does not consider allowing a departure in the winter transfer window.
Wearing the Beşiktaş jersey, Junior Olaitan reached 2 goals and 7 assists after finding the net against Başakşehir following his goal in the Crystal Palace match. Transferred from Göztepe for 5 million Euros during the winter transfer window of last season, Olaitan had faced criticism due to causing a penalty in the Konyaspor match in the Turkish Cup semi-finals and missing opportunities in the Midtjylland match at the beginning of the season. Rising with the support of head coach Vincenzo Italiano and football director Önder Özen, the 24-year-old footballer contributed to his team with assists in the Midtjylland and Kralove matches.
Achieving significant harmony in the midfield with Salih and Orkun, Olaitan also produced scores in the Eyüp, Çorum, Marseille, and Hoffenheim matches. Increasing his contribution to the scoreboard with goals from outside the penalty area in line with head coach Italiano's request, the footballer matched his career record of 5 goals and 4 assists, which he recorded while wearing the Niort jersey in the 2022-23 season. Having a contract until June 2029 and a market value indicated as 12 million Euros, the player has attracted the attention of teams from top-tier leagues, yet the Beşiktaş management is not warm to parting ways during the winter break.
