The BIST 100 index fell by 0.92 points from the previous close to finish the day at 11,151.03 points, with a total trading volume of 90.7 billion liras. Meanwhile, global markets have turned their attention to the interest rate decision to be taken by the US Federal Reserve (Fed).

Different movements were observed on a sectoral basis; the banking index lost 0.60 percent, while the holding index fell by 1.04 percent. The insurance sector was the day's biggest loser with a 3.84 percent decline, while the metal goods and machinery sector stood out as the strongest gainer with a 3.85 percent increase.
