Brandon Woodruff's World Series Uncertainty for the Milwaukee Brewers
Ahead of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Milwaukee Brewers are evaluating whether to include veteran pitcher Brandon Woodruff, who is recovering from an injury, in the roster.
As the Milwaukee Brewers continue preparations for the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, the status of one of the team's most senior players, Brandon Woodruff, remains uncertain. The right-handed pitcher, who has not appeared in a game since July 4, has intensified his training to determine if he can be an option for the series.
The Brewers advanced to the finals by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 in the National League Championship Series, while the Rays defeated the Cleveland Guardians 4-2 in the American League. The first game of the series will be played at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Woodruff completed a 23-pitch live batting practice session against the team's main roster at American Family Field on Tuesday. His velocity was measured between 90-92 mph as he faced players including Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, Jake Bauers, William Contreras, and Brice Turang. Brewers President of Baseball Operations Matt Arnold stated that no final decision has been made regarding the player's status.
Woodruff, who has a career 3.10 ERA, has been sidelined for a long time this season due to shoulder inflammation. The player expressed that he is doing everything he can to make himself an option, while acknowledging the team management's reservations.
