Call for common sense from MHP's Çiçek regarding Azerbaijan dress code debates
Yıldıray Çiçek, Press Advisor to MHP Leader Bahçeli, called for common sense, stating that attempts are being made to sow discord in relations between the two countries through debates over the dress code regulation in Azerbaijan.
Yıldıray Çiçek, Press Advisor to MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli and columnist for Türkgün, evaluated the discussions and alleged provocations that began following the new dress code regulation decision for schools in Azerbaijan.
Yıldıray Çiçek stated that an attempt is being made to create tension between Turkey and Azerbaijan through the dress code regulation in Azerbaijani schools. Recalling Atatürk's words "Azerbaijan's sorrow is our sorrow, its joy is our joy" in his article, Çiçek emphasized that the emotional bond and fraternity law between the two countries are unshakable.
Expressing that recently a provocative language targeting the ties has been used beyond the rhetoric of freedom of belief, Çiçek reminded that the 30-year occupation of Karabakh ended with the solidarity of the Turkic world. Drawing attention to the fact that the Turkey-Azerbaijan alliance disturbs certain powers in the region, Çiçek warned that actors such as Israel and Iran might want to benefit from a possible tension, noting that problems must be resolved with common sense.
