Samsun Provincial Health Director Specialist Dr. Mustafa Uras called on businesses operating in the field of health and healthy living to apply for licenses to obtain the title of wellness center or unit, in line with the Ministry of Health's Wellness Services Regulation.

Scope of Wellness Services

With the published regulation, non-therapeutic services of a preventive and developmental nature were officially defined as wellness services.

Within this scope, many applications such as balneotherapy, nutrition, exercise, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, meditation, psychological support, and sleep health were approved.

Institutions Eligible for Licenses

Accommodation facilities with at least 10 rooms, thermal hotels, and disability and elderly care centers will be eligible to obtain this title.

In addition, sports clubs and organizations operating in independent buildings are among the institutions that can apply for licenses.

Inspection and Authorization

Licensing procedures for the Ministry of Health-approved wellness center or unit title will be carried out by Provincial Health Directorates.

The authority to inspect the relevant facilities has also been placed directly under the responsibility of the Provincial Health Directorates.

Brand Potential for Samsun

Specialist Dr. Mustafa Uras stated that Samsun has a significant advantage in this field with its natural riches, healing hot springs, and sports facilities.

Emphasizing that the city holds the potential to become a brand city in wellness services, businesses were invited to apply for licenses.
