Capacity utilization in industry rose in October

According to data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the seasonally adjusted capacity utilization rate across the manufacturing industry increased by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month, reaching 74.3 percent in October. The unadjusted capacity utilization rate increased by 0.3 percentage points to 74.5 percent.

According to the results of the Business Tendency Survey involving 1,965 workplaces operating in the manufacturing industry between October 1 and 14, capacity utilization in consumer goods rose to 72.3 percent, while it declined to 74.4 percent in intermediate goods. On a sectoral basis, the highest capacity utilization was seen in tobacco products at 84.7 percent, while the lowest rate was recorded in the leather sector at 59.3 percent.
