Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek announced that new regulations have been implemented to increase transparency in capital markets and strengthen investor confidence.

Priorities and Protective Measures

Completing the liquidation of distressed funds and protecting the rights of investors are among the primary priorities. Sanctions will be applied decisively against those who disrupt the fair and competitive functioning of the markets.

Transparency and Institutional Steps

Important regulations that increase transparency in capital markets and strengthen investor confidence have been implemented by the relevant institutions. Evaluations by international index providers were also taken into account during this process.

Capital Markets Board Steps

With the regulations of the Capital Markets Board, information flow has been strengthened and ultimate beneficial ownership has been made more transparent. Significant innovations were implemented within the scope of the Fund Guide announced at the end of August.

Scope of New Regulations

Free funds are now required to disclose their portfolios weekly. It has become mandatory to announce certain shareholding thresholds in funds traded on TEFAS and to conduct borrowing transactions with collateral.

2027 Targets and Combat

Additional steps will be taken in consultation with all stakeholders. Legal regulations that will strengthen the fight against capital market crimes, including coordinated fund transactions, will be completed by the beginning of 2027.
