Former national football player Cenk Tosun, who transferred from Beşiktaş to Fenerbahçe, made striking statements about his career with the yellow-navy blue team. Tosun expressed that going to another major community was a mistake, but he did not regret this decision.
Cenk Tosun, who wore the Fenerbahçe jersey between 2024 and 2026, evaluated his transfer process to the yellow-navy blue club following his Beşiktaş background. Arguing that it was a mistake for someone who had become a legend and integrated with the fans at a club to go to another major community, Tosun nevertheless stated that he personally felt no regret.
Touching upon Fenerbahçe's long-standing failure to win a championship, the experienced football player criticized the club management. He emphasized that although the management made important transfers, names alone were not enough, and that team spirit and camaraderie were of great importance.
Stating that he got along well with head coach Jose Mourinho off the pitch but did not find enough playing opportunities, Tosun noted that he was surprised the Portuguese coach did not play him. Expressing that he worked hard in training and contributed to the score when he entered the game, Tosun conveyed that he could not make sense of not getting chances.
