Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz made his presentation regarding the 2027 Central Government Budget Law Proposal and the 2025 Central Government Final Accounts Law Proposal at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Plan and Budget Committee.
Yılmaz stated that by the end of 2026, Turkey's national income is expected to exceed $1.8 trillion for the first time, and per capita income is expected to surpass the $20,000 threshold. With this development, Turkey aims to be positioned above the threshold set for the high-income countries group category.
Despite global economic uncertainties, information was shared that Turkey's gross reserves reached the level of $171.6 billion as of October 9. Public expenditures, excluding earthquake costs, are planned to be kept under control and the budget deficit is planned to be gradually reduced.
Within the scope of the fight against inflation, it was stated that supply will be increased through social housing and rental social housing projects, thereby improving citizens' housing opportunities. Consumer price inflation, estimated at 28.4 percent at the end of 2026, is targeted to decline to 21 percent by the end of 2027.
Touching upon audits in capital markets, Yılmaz emphasized that genuine investors and individuals engaging in manipulation will be meticulously distinguished within the scope of fund investigations. By conducting judicial and administrative processes, it is aimed to bring markets to a stronger structure.
