Within the scope of preparations for the new period broadcasting tender of the Trendyol Süper Lig, the Clubs' Union Foundation carried out a comprehensive technical study aimed at elevating the broadcasting and image quality of matches to international standards.

It was reported that the study, conducted under the leadership of Clubs' Union Foundation President Ertuğrul Doğan, examined the regulations of international leagues and adapted them to Turkey. It was noted that this study aims to increase the broadcasting quality of the Süper Lig, improve the match-watching experience of fans, and develop Turkish football's competitive power in the field of international broadcasting.

In a statement made by Clubs' Union Foundation General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çağrı İlk, it was stated that the study, prepared by taking the broadcasting production standards of Europe's top 5 football leagues as a basis, covers many innovations ranging from advanced camera systems to 4K HDR broadcasting technologies, and from uninterrupted broadcasting infrastructure to special broadcasting models for digital platforms.

Target of 25 Cameras and 4K HDR Broadcasting in Derbies

Stating that the creation of different production categories according to the importance level of the matches was proposed, it was expressed that the use of advanced production infrastructures reaching up to 25 cameras in matches and performing broadcasts directly in Native 4K HDR, 2160p/50 format are targeted. An 18-camera Native 4K HDR production in top-tier Süper Lig matches, and a 1080p/50 HDR broadcasting standard with 14 cameras in other Süper Lig matches are foreseen.

It was reported that with the improvement of camera placements, it is planned to offer more comprehensive images from the sidelines, behind the goal, the offside line, the penalty area, and reverse angles; and it is targeted to convey critical positions to viewers from more angles with high-frame-rate slow-motion cameras and advanced replay systems.

The study also included the development of sound production, the use of advanced field microphones, and 5.1 Surround sound technology in top-tier matches. For the security of broadcasts, the redundant use of satellite and fiber infrastructures and the creation of alternative signal transmission systems were evaluated.

It was noted that in addition to traditional 16:9 television broadcasts, the production of alternative match broadcasts in a 9:16 vertical format targeting mobile device users was proposed. It was stated that thanks to this model, which can be supported by artificial intelligence-supported camera tracking and image management technologies, matches are targeted to be presented with a production approach special to mobile screens.
