Culture and arts journalism and its memory to be discussed at Karaköy Palas
A workshop addressing journalism, publishing, archiving, and the impact of digital platforms in the field of culture and arts will be held at Karaköy Palas.
The workshop, which will bring together professionals, researchers, and students in the field of culture and arts, will examine current issues in journalism and publishing, along with their dimensions of recording, archiving, and accessibility, at Karaköy Palas.
The program, which will cover the process from reporting on culture and arts events to their transformation into a permanent memory, will take place between 10:00 and 16:00. Through open table sessions and face-to-face interviews, the fundamental problems of culture and arts journalism, the changing ecosystem of publishing, the effects of digital platforms on production, and new trends in magazine publishing will be discussed.
Topics related to the production, circulation, and recording of culture and arts will be addressed in two parallel series of open tables. Open Table 1 will feature sessions on "Fundamental Problems of Culture and Arts Journalism," "Platformization of Culture and Arts Production," and "Keeping the Record of Culture and Arts," while Open Table 2 will cover "The Changing Ecosystem of Culture and Arts Publishing," "New Trends in Culture and Arts Magazine Publishing," and "Activating the Collection."
The face-to-face interview series will focus on the relationships that culture and arts establish with news, written memory, archives, and children. The program will conclude with a final report session that will be shared with participants at the end of the day and serve as a source for the written report.
