Popular music streaming platform Deezer has announced it is developing a new toggle that will allow users to completely filter out AI-generated music from their searches and streams.
Music streaming platform Deezer has announced it is working on a new filtering toggle that will allow users to avoid AI-generated music. The feature is planned to be launched by the end of the year.
To Launch by the End of the Year
The Deezer platform continues its commitment to helping users avoid listening to AI-generated music. In an announcement made on Tuesday, it was reported that a new toggle allowing users to filter out AI-made content is under development.
Completely Removed from Search Results
It was stated that when this newly developed toggle is activated, users will be prevented from encountering AI-generated tracks, albums, and related artists in their search results.
User Demand and CEO Statement
Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier stated in an announcement that they have seen clear user demand for the ability to filter AI music. Lanternier emphasized that the explosion of AI music on the platform was one of the primary factors in the development of this feature.
Massive Increase in Daily Uploads
A survey conducted last year revealed that approximately 45% of Deezer customers wanted AI music removed. In July, it was announced that more than 50% of the daily tracks uploaded to the platform were AI-generated, reaching an average of 90,000 tracks per day.
Policies of Other Streaming Platforms
Other music streaming services in the industry have also adopted various policies against AI music. While Bandcamp completely banned AI tracks, Tidal prevented uploaders of such content from earning revenue, and Spotify chose to label AI tracks more prominently.
