Defense Cooperation Roadmap Signed Between Turkey and France
Following high-level military contacts between Turkey and France, an official roadmap to deepen cooperation in the field of defense was signed.
According to the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, high-level contacts were held between Turkey and France within the scope of military cooperation activities, and a "Defense Cooperation Roadmap" was signed.
Comprehensive discussions were held with Alice Rufo, Minister Delegate attached to the Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans of France, General Vincent Giraud, Chief of the Military Private Office of the French President, and Guillaume Ollagnier, Director General for International Relations and Strategy. During the talks, the current state of bilateral defense and military relations and strategic dialogue processes were discussed.
While the parties evaluated the opportunities for developing cooperation in the defense industry and military fields, they mutually confirmed the importance of maintaining regular and result-oriented contacts. With the signing of the "Defense Cooperation Roadmap," which is the most important outcome of these contacts, it is aimed to take defense cooperation between the two countries to a more advanced level and to place strategic dialogue into an institutional framework.
This signature demonstrated that the positive messages recently given by the leaders of Turkey and France have turned into concrete cooperation in the field of defense. With the Roadmap, it is aimed to deepen strategic cooperation based on mutual benefit and to operate a closer dialogue mechanism on regional security issues.
