Dentists protested in front of the Ministry of Health: We are not robots
Members of DİŞHEK-SEN gathered in front of the Ministry of Health to protest heavy working conditions and low wages. Physicians demanded the removal of MHRS quotas and the establishment of a General Directorate of Oral and Dental Health.
Members of DİŞHEK-SEN came together in front of the Ministry of Health against the intense work pace caused by the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS), low wages, and professional restrictions.
Making a statement during the protest, DİŞHEK-SEN Chairperson Banu Yıldırım stated that dentists are forced to examine 30 patients a day and used the expressions, "We do not want to be turned into a machine that constantly performs procedures under constant surveillance and pressure. We are not robots, we are dentists." Yıldırım demanded that the number of patients per physician be reduced and treatment times be extended.
Physicians demanded the improvement of their incomes which are melting against inflation, a single-item salary payment reflecting on retirement, and the preparation of a special additional payment regulation for dentistry. In addition, it was emphasized that the revenues of dental hospitals should be collected in a separate pool and distributed transparently, and that treatments that are actually performed but cannot be billed should be included in the performance calculation.
