Digital health project launched for rural patients in Konya's Beyşehir
Remote healthcare services will be provided with the support of village heads for bedridden citizens in Beyşehir who cannot visit the hospital.
In Konya's Beyşehir district, the "Hand in Hand with Our Village Heads, Digital Hospital in Your Home" project is being implemented for bedridden citizens who cannot go to the hospital. Within the scope of the project, individuals unable to reach the hospital will be provided with remote video consultations with doctors.
Aim and Scope of the Project
The "Hand in Hand with Our Village Heads, Digital Hospital in Your Home" project, prepared in cooperation with Beyşehir State Hospital and the Beyşehir Association of Village Heads, is being put into practice.
This new initiative aims to deliver healthcare services especially to citizens who are bedridden and have difficulty going to the hospital.
Remote Consultation System
It is planned that patients who cannot reach the hospital and need a physician's evaluation will be connected with doctors via remote connection.
Thanks to the system, patients will be able to communicate via video with the physician through the Remote Patient Evaluation System established in the hospital.
The Role of Village Heads
Beyşehir State Hospital Chief Physician Kutay Güven stated that neighborhood village heads will play an active role in reaching patients in need.
For example, for a patient in a neighborhood who needs the evaluation of a psychiatry specialist, the village head will visit the home.
Treatment and Report Processes
As a result of the remote consultations to be held, it is aimed to evaluate the patient's needs and carry out reporting processes when necessary.
All medical decisions and evaluations will be made personally by expert physicians in their fields.
Home Health Services
Dr. İbrahim Fuat Kayıhan Kaya, the Responsible Physician for Home Health Services at Beyşehir State Hospital, stated that he has been in this position for about four years.
Kaya stated that within this scope, approximately 750 patients have been reached to date and home care activities are continuing.
Needs of Remote Neighborhoods
Due to Beyşehir having 68 neighborhoods and some residential areas being far from the hospital, difficulties can be experienced in responding quickly.
It is planned to overcome these distances and difficulties by utilizing the support of village heads through the Remote Patient Evaluation System.
Protocol Signing Ceremony
During the promotional meeting held, neighborhood village heads were informed about how the system will operate and its details.
At the end of the program, an official protocol was signed between Chief Physician Dr. Kutay Güven and Ahmet Erol, President of the Beyşehir Association of Village Heads.
