Aiming to increase management efficiency and treatment quality, the provincial health sector targets implementing a smart hospital model based on the application of electronic medical records.

Digital transformation ranks among the primary duties of the provincial health sector to improve management efficiency, the quality of medical examinations and treatments, and the services provided to the public. Based on the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR), the sector aims for data connectivity, the synchronization of information technologies, and the development of smart hospital models.

One of the prominent developments in this scope has been the completion of electronic medical record implementations across 47 public and private health facilities.

Dr. Huynh Huu Nhan, Director of Tra Vinh General Hospital, stated that the EMR system provides time and cost savings for both the hospital and patients. Tiet Ngoc Lan, an IT Department engineer at the University Medical Center Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City, described EMR as an ecosystem connecting the stages within the hospital.

Ho Thi Thu Hang, Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that the sector continues to promote digital transformation and target the smart hospital model.
