Donald Trump Reveals He Asked Google CEO to Rename the Atlantic Ocean
At a rally in South Carolina, Donald Trump stated that he requested Google CEO Sundar Pichai to rename the Atlantic Ocean to 'Trump' or 'America', but noted that his request was declined.
Donald Trump has revealed that he raised the issue of renaming the Atlantic Ocean during a meeting with Google CEO Sundar Pichai. Speaking at a rally in South Carolina, Trump stated that he proposed updating the ocean's name to 'Trump' or 'America', but that Pichai did not accept the request.
Trump stated that he spoke with Pichai about this name change, which he planned to implement via Google Maps. Recounting the conversation, Trump said he told him, 'Sundar, I'm thinking about the Atlantic Ocean,' and claimed the Google CEO rejected the proposal on the grounds that oceans encompass many countries.
Trump noted that Pichai responded by saying, 'Oceans are different, sir, please don't ask us to do that,' and added that as a result of this attempt, the ocean's current name would remain.
