Following the Republican Party's losses in the US midterm elections, President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Fox News that the Democrats demonstrated a successful performance during the election process.

According to the election results, Democrats are expected to take control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. In a phone interview, Trump stated that he was surprised by the scale of the election results, expressing that the turnout at rallies had created expectations for a stronger outcome.

President Trump did not personally take responsibility for the losses within the party, instead attributing them to the performance of specific candidates such as Ken Paxton and Darline Graham. On the other hand, he did not make any claims of irregularities during the election process.

Trump emphasized that he would use his veto power against the legislative activities of the Democrats. Stating that he would stand against the opposition's agenda, particularly regarding immigration and transgender rights issues, Trump also expressed that he considered the impact of the conflict with Iran on the election results to be low. It is projected that Democrats won at least seven seats in the Senate and 25 seats in the House of Representatives.
