Ceramic artist and academic Dr. Didar Ezgi Özdağ Bardak presented her sixth solo exhibition titled "Vanitas" to Izmir art lovers at the Izmir Turgut Pura Foundation Culture and Arts Factory TPV Gallery. Formed around the transience of life, the inevitability of death, time, memory, and human desire to be permanent, the exhibition brings together the imagery the artist addressed in different contexts in her previous solo exhibitions under a new narrative framework.

Interpreting the centuries-old vanitas tradition through contemporary ceramic art, Özdağ Bardak uses symbolic elements such as skull, apple, eye, butterfly, caterpillar, crown, rose, goblet, and writing objects. The artist summarizes the core thought of the exhibition with the words: "Nothing lives forever here. But nothing completely disappears either."
