The reconstruction efforts initiated in Turkey following the February 6, 2023 earthquakes received extensive coverage on US-based platforms USA TODAY and Business Insider. It was reported that more than 455,000 independent units were completed in approximately 2 years under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

In USA TODAY's report, it was stated that the first permanent housing foundations were laid 15 days after the earthquakes, and the first village houses were delivered to rightful owners on the 45th day. It was emphasized that approximately 200,000 people worked at 3,481 construction sites in 174 different areas during the peak period, and this process corresponded to a production speed of 23 houses per hour. Construction activities were carried out simultaneously in the Malatya İkizce, Adıyaman İndere, Hatay Dikmece, and Kahramanmaraş Altınova regions.

Of the 455,357 completed independent units, 367,995 consisted of residences, 65,672 of village houses, and 21,690 of commercial units. The highest number of independent units in the earthquake zone was built in Hatay with 153,755 units, followed by Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Adıyaman, and Gaziantep.
