Economic Challenges Discussed at Vietnam-EU Digital Innovation Forum

The ASEAN-EU Digital Innovation Forum 2026, held in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the European Union Delegation, took place on the afternoon of October 28. Policies, resources, and solutions aimed at promoting research, technology development, and digital innovation were addressed at the event.

Gathering under the theme "From Policy to Practice: Creating a Favorable Ecosystem for Research, Technology Development, and Digital Innovation in ASEAN," participants discussed institutional improvements and placing businesses at the center of innovation. Nguyen Mai Duong, Director of the Innovation Department under the Ministry of Science and Technology, drew attention to the shifts of science, technology, and digital transformation in the global economy, emphasizing that artificial intelligence and new digital technologies offer development opportunities while also requiring innovation in management and production methods. It was also stated that the Science, Technology, and Innovation Law of 2025 provides a legal foundation. Meanwhile, Kristina Buende, Head of Partnerships at the EU Delegation to Vietnam, stated that digital cooperation between the parties is deepening.
