Elon Musk stated in a post on the social media platform X on Monday that he will give a SpaceX share to every child in the US next year, noting that this is just a beginning. Complaining about the inefficiency of traditional philanthropy, Musk argued that artificial intelligence would open the doors to a world of incredible abundance and stated that governments must give people their shares.

Musk, who took SpaceX public this year—encompassing artificial intelligence, satellite internet, and social media businesses—noted that the shares were trading at approximately $150 on Monday. While details of this commitment remain limited, coming after rival AI company Anthropic announced it would transfer a portion of its shares to a public benefit fund, it was stated that the shares would be distributed through investment accounts launched by the Trump administration this year.
