Sending a video message to the 9th Istanbul Mediation Conference held in Istanbul, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Turkey has adopted diplomacy as a principle in global crises. Citing Russia-Ukraine prisoner exchanges and activities in Africa as examples, Erdoğan criticized injustices within the United Nations system, drawing attention to the problems caused by the will of over 190 countries being subject to the decisions of 5 countries.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized that Israel's ceasefire violations undermine trust in the international system. Fidan stated that stability cannot be imported from outside and lasting solutions are only possible through regional ownership.

Held with the participation of approximately 200 high-level officials, diplomats, and academics, the conference is organized under the theme 'Partnerships for Peace and New Perspectives: Mediation in a Changing World.'
