President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated in his speech at the Turkish Maarif Foundation 10th Anniversary Program, held at the Beştepe Nation's Library, that Türkiye is now in a new league and has become a global player thanks to its international vision in the field of education.
Global Educational Vision
Türkiye continues to carry its accumulation in the field of education to different continents with its schools, dormitories, and universities. President Erdoğan emphasized that the country has risen to a new league not only in the defense industry and diplomacy, but also in terms of its international educational vision.
Activities of the Maarif Foundation
The Turkish Maarif Foundation offers new opportunities to children and youth in different regions of the world, from Asia to Africa, from the Balkans to the Caucasus. The Foundation provides quality and qualified education opportunities to over 75,000 students in its 611 institutions worldwide.
Developments in Educational Infrastructure
Over the past 24 years, Türkiye's educational infrastructure has been developed, and access to education alongside equality of opportunity has been guaranteed. During this process, where institutional capacity has been increased, curricula have been revised according to new needs, and the green and digital transformations of schools have been carried out.
An Approach Free from Colonialism
None of the activities carried out under the auspices of the Turkish Maarif Foundation and the Yunus Emre Institute feature a unilateral approach. As a nation with no stain of colonialism in its history, Türkiye prioritizes human values.
International Maarif Awards
The Maarif Awards found their recipients, targeting Maarif students and teachers in different geographies of the world. Among those deemed worthy of the award were names from Niger, Sudan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Togo, and Somalia.
Condolences Regarding Precipitation
During the program, President Erdoğan conveyed his condolences to the families of the four citizens who lost their lives due to heavy rainfall in Istanbul and Antalya.
