Emphasis on green maritime cooperation between Turkey and Norway
Norse Group Chairman Mustafa Süngü evaluated the cooperation potential of the two countries in ship building and conversion projects at the Turkey-Norway Green Maritime Bridge program.
Speaking at the "Turkey–Norway Green Maritime Bridge" event hosted by Turkey's Ambassador to Oslo Gülin Dinç, Norse Group Founder and Chairman of the Board Mustafa Süngü drew attention to the strategic cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
Süngü stated that Turkey and Norway have great potential in low-emission new shipbuilding, ship conversion projects, and offshore fields. Touching upon the importance of modernizing existing fleets during the green transition process, Süngü expressed that planned conversion projects will increase efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend the lifespan of ships.
Emphasizing that the combination of Turkish engineering capabilities with Norway's technology and quality standards creates value, Süngü stated that shipyards, designers, equipment suppliers, and classification societies must act together to strengthen this synergy. He also noted that overcoming obstacles such as financing and bank letters of guarantee through dialogue will accelerate the projects.
