The electronic health record system integrated into the VNeID application in Thanh Hoa province allows citizens to digitalize their health information and easily access medical services. As part of a 100-day intensive campaign held between July 8 and October 15, 2026, data standardization and account activation efforts were carried out throughout the province.

Personnel were assigned in healthcare facilities across Thanh Hoa to help citizens set up Level 2 electronic identity accounts and integrate their e-health cards with VNeID. Stating that under the old system patients had to carry their examination histories, test results, and prescriptions on paper or physically, officials noted that thanks to the new digital infrastructure, duplicate tests have decreased and waiting times have shortened. Dr. Luong Van Nguyen, Deputy Director of Thuong Xuan General Hospital, noted that digitalization supports doctors' decision-making processes.

While the health insurance coverage rate in Nhu Xuan township has exceeded 98 percent, local governments have supported updating information on VNeID by visiting villages. Le Anh Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, stated that Thanh Hoa is one of the leading localities in the application, and the ultimate goal is the effective use of data and the establishment of a sustainable health system.
