Eryaman Stadium pitch becomes a hot topic on social media ahead of Galatasaray match
Ahead of the match between Gençlerbirliği and Galatasaray, Eryaman Stadium's pitch sparked debate due to rainfall in Ankara, but officials stated there are no issues.
The pitch at Eryaman Stadium, where Gençlerbirliği and Galatasaray will face each other in the 8th week of the Süper Lig, became a talking point on social media due to heavy rainfall in Ankara. Meanwhile, officials reported that there are no problems with the pitch.
Rainfall throughout the day in Ankara made the pitch of Eryaman Stadium a subject of debate ahead of the match. Following claims that issues occurred on the pitch during last week's Amed Sportif Faaliyetler match, shared posts stated that no water accumulation has been observed on the field so far. Officials also noted that the pitch is ready for the match.
The General Directorate of Meteorology had issued a warning for Ankara, announcing that heavy rain was expected until Saturday night. Citizens were urged to be cautious against negative conditions such as floods, water inundation, and disruptions in transportation. In the Etimesgut district where the match will be played, the weather is projected to be light rain between 15:00 and 18:00, with a temperature of 12 degrees and a wind speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
