Evaluation of the Use of Science and Technology Funds in Vietnam
The Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam discussed budget expenditures at a conference, announcing that 41.18% of the total funds have been utilized.
The Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam held an online conference with provincial departments to evaluate 2026 budget expenditures and digital transformation processes.
Hoang Thi Phuong Luu, Director of the Planning and Finance Department, reported that as of October 26, out of a total budget of 52,680 billion VND allocated nationwide, 21,693 billion VND had been disbursed, corresponding to a rate of 41.18%. Meanwhile, 38.49% of the 28,032.79 billion VND budget allocated for local authorities was disbursed.
The provinces of Thai Nguyen, Hue, Tuyen Quang, Can Tho, Quang Tri, Khanh Hoa, and Da Nang achieved a disbursement rate of over 50%. The ministry requested local authorities to examine the causes of slow payments, update data weekly, and propose returning funds that cannot be utilized within the year.
