Following the derby match played in the 9th week of the Süper Lig, which ended with a 2-1 victory for Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe published an official statement regarding the incidents that took place.

In the statement made by Fenerbahçe, the alleged attacks directed against its players after the match were criticized in harsh terms. The club emphasized that the events—starting with a verbal attack on Kerem Aktürkoğlu, continuing with the intervention of Galatasaray analysis team member Serhat Doğan against Matteo Guendouzi, and Abdülkerim Bardakçı pulling a Fenerbahçe player's hair—were unacceptable.

Stating that the tension experienced could not be explained away by the "derby atmosphere," the Fenerbahçe management argued that the attitude of opposing team members escalated the events. The club stated that in order to prevent violence in Turkish football, those responsible should be referred to disciplinary boards without discrimination and that the necessary sanctions should be applied. During the derby match, Abdülkerim Bardakçı and Archie Brown had received red cards and been sent off.
