The contemporary dance work titled 'Wind Tree', which Fernando Melo created for the Danish Dance Theatre in 2023, is now being presented to audiences by the MDTistanbul ensemble under the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB).

Redefining the life cycle and the perception of time and space, the work invites the audience into an abstract world. Accompanied by symphonic music composed by Signe Lykke and recorded by the Copenhagen Phil, the performance features dancers whose bodies reflect movements reminiscent of trees swaying in the wind.

The choreography, which explores human emotions, disappointments, and hopes in a gravity-defying atmosphere, symbolizes the individual's vortex within constant motion. The piece features performances by Anna Viktoria Zesakes, Berk Can Ceylan, Bianca Cerioni, Chiara Giorda, Demet Aksular, Ekin Ançel, Evrim Akyay, Miray Bacı, Tufan Elitaş, Tuğçe Göncü Ceylan, Müge Bayramoğlu, Kamola Rashidova, Ferhat Güneş, and Mert Aksu. 'Wind Tree' will continue to be performed as part of the IDOB program.
