The projection in the 2027 budget proposal to increase the minimum wage tax exemption resource by 33.7 percent to 1 trillion 460 billion TL has brought five different scenarios for new period salary increases to the agenda. It was reported that the increase rate in the budget is not a finalized raise decision, but rather forms a basis for possible scenarios.

According to the 2027 budget proposal, it is projected that 1 trillion 460 billion TL of resources will be allocated for the contribution to be provided to employee incomes within the scope of the minimum wage tax exemption. In the previous year's budget, this amount was around 1 trillion 92 billion TL. The 33.7 percent increase in the resource laid the groundwork for calculations indicating that the salary could exceed 37 thousand TL if this rate is reflected in the net wage. However, authorities emphasized that the budget projection does not mean a direct raise decision.

Net salaries were calculated as follows based on possible raise rates that could be applied to the minimum wage, which is currently a net 28 thousand 75 TL: 35 thousand 94 TL with a 25 percent raise, 36 thousand 48.94 TL with a 28.4 percent raise, 36 thousand 498 TL with a 30 percent raise, 37 thousand 536.94 TL with a 33.7 percent raise, and 37 thousand 901 TL with a 35 percent raise. The 28.4 percent rate, which is the Medium-Term Program's end-of-2026 inflation forecast, was also included among the scenarios. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission is expected to hold a meeting in December to determine the final figures.
