Jonathan Fozard, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Florida State University (FSU), shared the university's approach to artificial intelligence in education and research during the GlobalMindED event held at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.

Jonathan Fozard, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Florida State University, came together with higher education and technology leaders as part of the GlobalMindED event held in New York City on October 19. At the higher education panel held at the United Nations titled "From Classrooms to Labs: How Universities Are Integrating (and Bounding) AI," Fozard discussed how universities can move artificial intelligence beyond the experimental phase.

During the panel, which also featured leaders from New York University, the University of Chicago, and Amazon Web Services, opportunities in artificial intelligence integration, data protection, security, and meaningful outcomes were discussed. Fozard highlighted FSU's efforts to make secure artificial intelligence tools accessible across different disciplines, protect student and institutional data, support faculty members, and enhance student learning outcomes. Fozard also stated that an artificial intelligence-supported pilot study yielded a 20 percent increase in performance.
