Four-Day Action by Hekim Birliği Union for Working Conditions
The Hekim Birliği Union launched a four-day action from October 26 to 30, demanding more time for patients and increased security measures.
In Turkey, the Hekim Birliği Union initiated a four-day action on October 26, demanding adequate time for patients and the improvement of working conditions. The union announced that, as part of the action lasting until October 30, its members will not accept patients without appointments through the Central Physician Appointment System (MHRS).
Demanding at least 10 minutes for each patient in outpatient clinics and at least 30 minutes in dentistry, the union also calls for increased on-call wages and the strengthening of security measures. Hekim Birliği Union Press Coordinator İlkay Özge stated that heavy patient traffic reduces the quality of examinations and leaves physicians facing the risk of violence. According to Ministry of Health data, 8,795 White Code applications were filed in the first six months of 2025. Meanwhile, the union announced that it will launch a new action process starting November 1 against the decision for mandatory remote examination appointments for family physicians.
