Frédéric Dusart Appointed Head Coach of the Women's National Basketball Team

An agreement has been reached with French head coach Frédéric Dusart for the head coaching position of the Women's National Team, which will compete in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027 Second Round Qualifiers.

The French head coach began his professional career in 2005 as an assistant coach at France's ESBVA-LM Villeneuve d'Ascq. Taking over as head coach at the same club in 2012, Dusart held this position until 2019, during which he won the EuroCup Women championship in 2015 and was named EuroCup “Coach of the Year.” In 2017, he won the French League Championship with his team and received the title of “Coach of the Year” in France as well.

Having taken charge of the Belgian team Castors Braine in September 2019, the experienced coach maintained this role until 2025, winning 3 Belgian League championships (2020, 2021, 2025) and 2 Belgian Cups (2021, 2025). With this performance, he was deemed worthy of the “Coach of the Year” award in Belgium in 2020, 2021, and 2025. Frédéric Dusart continues his coaching career at Galatasaray Çağdaş Faktoring, one of the teams in the Halkbank Women's Basketball Super League.
